Welcome to Owl Football!

Park Ridge OWL Football is a member of BCJFL (The Bergen County Junior Football League). This league was built with fair play and athletes first. Also in the BCJFL are the following programs: Closter, Cresskill, Dumont, Garfield, Glen Ridge, Hillsdale / Montvale / Woodcliff Lake, Northern Valley, Norwood / Harrington Park, Westwood / Washington Township, River Vale, and Waldwick / Midland Park.

The volunteer trustees and coaches of Park Ridge Youth Football allow our program and most importantly our players to thrive and succeed. Each promote good sportsmanship and athletic achievement; and to provide a memorable, meaningful and rewarding experience for all participants.

The PRAA Football program begins with Mighty Mites tackle football for children entering 1st and 2nd grade. It moves on to Pee Wee football at the 3rd grade level and continues to nurture and teach children in the sport up through 8th grade.  The Mighty Mites through Senior teams participate in the Bergen County Junior Football League (BCJFL), which includes 13+ other neighboring towns.

Fields

All Park Ridge teams will have the opportunity to play games at PRHS artificial turf field for games and some practices. Sulak field is also used for practices. The PRHS field is a state-of-the-art complex allowing players to play on a safe field with a great game day experience including: Cheerleaders, Announcers, Concession Stands and Seating for Parents, Grandparents and friends.

Equipment

PRAA provides Helmet, Shoulder Pads, Practice Jerseys, Game Jerseys, Padded pants for each player.  Our helmets are sent to the manufacturer at the end of every season. The process of helmet reconditioning involves cleaning, inspecting, repairing, sanitizing, and recertifying each helmet Every athlete should have the opportunity to wear a durable, trustworthy, recertified piece of protective equipment. And once the equipment goes through reconditioning and recertification, our parents and athletes can feel confident that they are wearing a safe helmet.

We also have all kids wear Guardian Caps over their helmets for practices. Guardian Caps are padded covers which go over the helmet and will be used in all practices.  This is a best practice used by the NFL and College football teams to minimize injury.
