The Park Ridge Athletic Association offers cheerleading for athletes in grades one through eight from both Park Ridge and Emerson. The grades are paired and divided across four levels of football teams.  No tryouts or prior cheer experience is required.

Each level supports Owl Football Teams at home and away games, with most games played on the weekends.  In addition, each team may participate in a showcase or competitive event within the Fall season.  The team breakdown is as follows:

• Mighty Mites:  Grades 1 and 2
• Pee Wees:  Grades 3 and 4
• Juniors:  Grades 5 and 6
• Seniors:  Grades 7 and 8

While practices occur during the week, practice dates and times vary depending on grade level and coach.  You can expect to practice a minimum of 2 days per week – approximately 2 hours per day in the evening.  You will be notified of the exact details by the coach of your team once registration is complete and we get closer to August.

NOTE:  Park Ridge cheer coaches follow AACCA guidelines for all choreography including (but not limited to) sideline and halftime routines.

Choreography Camp is mandatory to participate in halftime routines and registration is separate. Camp will be held the week of August 5th in the afternoons.

Uniform Fittings will occur in early June.  All athletes will be issued a shell/cheer top, a skirt, a warm-up jacket, and warm-up pants.  – A $100 check payable to PRAA is required for the uniform deposit. Checks will not be cashed as long as you return your entire uniform at the end of the season.  Cheerleaders will also receive two (2) hair bows which they will keep. 

Parents are responsible for some costs associated with uniform accessories which should be ordered through the program (pom-poms, briefs, body liner). White cheer sneakers, no-show white socks & black leggings also need to be purchased independently.
